Bio

Born creative, Francesca Mercieca has worked on painting and photography from a very young age. Always seeking more out of different mediums, the audio-visual proved to be the ideal tool to enable her to combine art, story and sound. She has always been interested in working on film for cinema and this led her to study each individual discipline in depth, whilst aspiring to become a filmmaker.

Behind the Scenes; Candy Music Video

She has worked on various set typologies, her fearless imagination and flexibility landing her various roles in different sectors. Specialising in the Art Department, she strives to design inspiring large scale sets which set the scene and immerse both the actors and directors within perfectly articulated and aesthetically pleasing scenarios. Following her experience on the feature film Despite the Falling Snow: 2016(UK), where she was mostly responsible for the pre-sourcing of the art department, alongside many other local short films and music videos, she has made her mark in effective co-ordination of teams, materials and suppliers. She has also gained thorough experience in highly effective project and programme management.   Her filmography progressed from designing sets, props, costumes and locations to a greater focus on large-scale design and its construction and manual implementation; setting up a small personal inventory for timeless props, custom lights and pieces enabling her to pursue the artistic creation of custom plans for inspiring individuals.  Her impeccable attention to detail and respect to composition eventually led her to work on standby props and their purchasing, set decoration, costume design and art direction; the combination of which enabled her to transform ideas and concepts into well-designed, fully realistic sets.
